counting in hindi

Numbers are strings of numbers that are used to represent the size. They indicate size, i.e. how big or small the quantity is. In math, there are many kinds of numbers. However, they belong to two primary classes: counting numbers, and scalars.

Counting numbers, Natural Numbers

These are used for counting the amount of objects. It is a positive number with zero fractional parts. For example 12 cars, 45 students, three houses. For more information, refer to Counting numbers and Natural numbers.

Scalars

They are numbers in Hindi employed to measure an amount to any desired level of precision. For example a building height is 12.388 meters or the speed of an aircraft has been measured as 810.31 kilometers per hour. They can be decimal or fractional components. See also Scalar definition. Within this category , there are various kinds of numbers:

  • Real numbers are ones which can be positive, negative or zero, and can have decimal spaces or fractional portions. They are among the most popular numbers used to measure quantities. Example 31.88 centimeters. They typically have units. For more see Real number definition.
  • Integers, whole numbers, that can be positive, negative or zero, but they do not have decimal place as well as fractional parts. They're like counting numbers but can be negative. For more information, see Integer Definition.
  • Negative and positive numbersPositive number are those which are considered to be greater than zero. A large positive number is greater than a lesser one, for example , +12 is bigger than +2. For more see Positive number definition.Negative numbers are ones that are considered to be less than zero. They are often thought of as deficits or debts. If, for instance, the wallet you carry is full and have to pay someone, then you can think of your wallet as having a negative balance of $12. In this way, you've got no more than zero dollar. To learn more about this, read Negative number definition.
  • Rational, and Irrational numbers . Rationalnumbers are numbers that can be expressed using the term "ratio" to two decimals.
The word 'rational' comes from the word 'ratio'. For example this number 0.5 is rational since it is written as half of the number . For more see Rational number definition.Irrational numbers are those that are not rational, that is those that cannot be written as the ratio of two integers. For more details, refer to Irrational numeral definition.
  • Imaginary numbersImaginary numbers are necessary to determine the square root of negative numbers, something that is not usually possible. Thus, for instance, the square root of -16 would be written as 4i, in which the letter i is the symbol for the square root of a negative one. For more information on this, see Imaginary number definition.
  • Complex numbersRecall that the real numbers are those which are situated on a number line. Complex numbers extend this idea to numbers on a two-dimensional flat plane. Complex numbers consist of two componentscalled the real and imaginary parts. See Complex number definition.
  • A prime number can be described as an int that does not contain factors (Integers that divides a given number without a remainder) that are not one itself. Also, it can be divided by only one and the number. 17 is an integer prime. 16 is not because it can be divided by 2, 4 and 8.A Composite number can be described as a number that is not prime. The number does contain factors, and so is the opposite of the prime number. See Composite number definition.

Number notation(counting in english)

There are many ways numbers can be written or illustrated.

  • The number lineA number line is graphical way to visualize numbers by placing them on a straight line. Usually, they are including zeros in the middle and positive numbers to the right and negative numbers to the left.
For more information, refer to the Number line.
  • Decimal notation is the most popular way for representing real numbers. A string of digits and decimal mark (dot). The digits on the left of the line are increasing powers of 10, while those to the right are increasing negative powers of ten. Example 836.33 , -45.009.
  • FractionsA fraction is a two-dimensional quantity which are written one over one another, which illustrates how much of a whole thing we have. For instance, we could be able to have 3 quarters a pizza:34of a pizza For more see Fraction definition.
  • Normal format (Scientific notation)For very huge and small numbers the decimal notation isn't the most convenient. A number in normal form consists of two parts of a coefficient as well as the exponent (power of 10). For example, the distance to the sun's surface is 93000000 miles. This can be more conveniently written as 93x10 6 miles. The coefficient is 93 while six is the exponent. For more see The normal version (scientific terminology).

Certain numbers aren't numbers in any way

Sometimes numbers are used to identify objects. Instead of determining the size something is or counting things they can be used to define objects that exist in the real world. For instance, a student ID number isn't used to measure anything. It is simply the number of digits in a string which identify a particular student.

It's absurd to attempt to do arithmetic with them. Dividing a student's number by two or finding an equation for the square root in a phone number has no meaning.
